What is the Distance Learning DBA?
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is a research doctorate equivalent to a PhD. Most DBA programmes require attendance at a taught programme, followed by the completion and submission of a thesis that contributes to business theory or practice. DBA programmes generally focus on applied research which will be of direct benefit to business.
Most DBA programmes requre full-time or part-time attendance, but London Graduate School of Management, the Business School of Millennium City Academy, offers a Distance Learning DBA that can be undertaken from anywhere in the world. The current cohort includes students from Canada, Australia, Japan, Mongolia, Tanzania, Mauritius, France and Luxembourg, amongst others.
The Distance Learning DBA is a Professional Doctorate programme which offers students the opportunity to study a comprehensive postgraduate curriculum in Business Administration, specialising in Branding andEntrepreneurship. It is an ideal preparation for those who wish to launch and run their own business or take up advanced leadership positions in business, government or the public or private sector.
How Does the Distance Learning DBA Work?
The Distance Learning DBA is taught over a three year period, using our state-of-the-art Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle. The first year consists of six intensive taught courses in various aspects of Entrepreneurship and Branding. These are delivered using a mixture of interactive and downloadable learning materials and synchronous online workshops.
The second year of the Distance Learning DBA commences with the Research Methods course, during which you’ll start to develop your Research Proposal. The rest of the year is devoted to carrying out research and producing a thesis, under the guidance of your Doctoral Supervisor.
The thesis can be submitted any time after the completion of the second year, but most students will require at least another year.
What are the Distance Learning DBA Entry Requirements?
The normal entry-requirement for the Distance Learning DBA is a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area, but we are also prepared to consider students who have significant work experience in a management role.
